Conservatives, November Is Coming Soon
By Len Mead 7-23-10
Yes, Scott Brown just hung conservatives and Tea Party Patriots out to dry with his YES vote on the bogus, damaging “Financial Reform” bill. The Wall Street Journal tagged this new regulation assault on the private sector as thirty times more complicated than the last one in 2002 – Sarbanes Oxley – justified then, of course, with the presumption that greedy public c
orporations spent all their time cooking up their financial books so hapless investors would pay too much for the company’s stock. The result? Productivity losses in the billions as accounting firms and businesses had to waste untold time and money filling out ridiculous, conflicting new tax and disclosure forms – while Enron went just as bankrupt in 2004 as before the new burdensome law.
Conservatives who spent blood and treasure electing Brown are now aghast as their new “independent” Senator cut deals with Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. Brown’s office says he found justification for approving this new garbage financial bill because a May voter survey found a majority of people surveyed thought Wall Street firms were all evil profiteering villains and “needed” more regulation --- from government! But I guess if any of you readers were called for this survey and asked, “Now that evil Wall Street profiteers have ruined the economy and forced you to lose your job do you think they need more regulation?” you can’t be blamed answering, “Yes.”
So who has been smearing and vilifying the private sector and Wall Street for the last year and a half? . . . Why, our newly elected politicians at all levels! These same elites have solved the problems of the dark, dangerous, dreaded private sector by driving our national debt up to $13 trillion, running a $1 trillion deficit already this year, raising every tax possible and then nationalizing our once-great automotive industry, medical sector, banks, and now “Wall Street.” Repeal of every one of these disasters is eagerly anticipated by conservatives after November.
Finally, my friends, the majority of the public is waking up to the results of letting “more government” solve anything in spite of set-backs like Brown’s vote. Here are a few factoids justifying why conservatives and Tea Party Patriots are gathering to throw out dangerous Democrats and liberals next November:
Calculated Risk shows that of the 11 recessions since 1948, all save the last two returned to full employment in about 1 and ¼ years. The 2001 recession recovered in 4 years, but the current one (with unemployment over 9%) is now stalled three times deeper than every recession tracked since WWII. It is now 2 ½ years old with no end in sight and saved only from plunging further because of the temporary government hiring of 400,000 census “workers." The intentional liberal goal of making us
all dependent on government instead of ourselves is proving again to be a failed, bankrupt “solution” to achieving prosperity.
Pew Research shows 56% of Republican voters are 'more enthusiastic' about voting this year, while only 42% of Democrats are -- the highest percentage of conservatives ready to vote in 26 years.
Informed conservatives and Tea Party Patriots recognize the dangerous, unsustainable financial situation government liberals have intentionally created (covered up by the main street media) since Obama was imaculated. The 10 worst states ranked for Cumulative Probability of Default by Business Insider show a 42% estimate #1 Illinois will default, #2 California at 39% and (surprise!) #7 Massachusetts at 22%. Incidentally, Dear Readers, I’m still waiting for a better proposal from you to solve Westborough’s broken financial situation than declaring bankruptcy which I proposed last month.
At the Tea Party Rally last Saturday at Lincoln Square in Worcester, it was heartening to hear from leader after leader that, yes, the people who elected Scot Brown are currently furious at his vote for the bogus Financial Reform bill, but they realize that the only hope of stopping our Supreme Court from being packed with the liberal shill Kagan, illegal immigration amnesty, bogus cap and trade legislation, and unconstitutional union “card check” is to work even harder to lead and make the case that private sector solutions, less government and less taxes are the only way our great nation will finally recover and prosper.
Remember these sweet words in our Declaration of Independence -- “Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed [and] that whenever any government becomes destructive of these ends [our God-given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness] it is right of the people to alter or abolish it.” Governments have powers here; people have rights.
Keep heart, folks. November is coming soon and there are great conservative candidates to vote for to replace the liberals now oppressing us.
